Carpet Cleaners Acton Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaners Acton provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order for any cleaning service.

Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Client means the individual or business placing a booking for services with Carpet Cleaners Acton.

Company means Carpet Cleaners Acton, the provider of the cleaning services.

Services means carpet, upholstery, rug, mattress and related cleaning services offered by the Company, as well as any additional cleaning services agreed in writing.

Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.

Technician means an operative or subcontractor engaged by the Company to perform the Services.

Scope of Services

The Company provides professional carpet and related cleaning services within its designated service areas, including Acton and surrounding locations. The precise Services to be carried out will be confirmed at the time of booking, based on the information provided by the Client.

The Company reserves the right to refuse, withdraw or amend any Service if it considers that the Premises are unsafe, unsuitable, inaccessible, or if the work required falls outside the scope of standard cleaning or may pose a risk to health, safety, or property.

Booking Process

Bookings can be made by the Client through the Company’s designated booking channels. The Client must provide accurate and complete details including the address of the Premises, type and number of items or areas to be cleaned, parking information, access arrangements, and any known issues such as stains, damage, pet odours, or delicate materials.

All bookings are subject to availability. Any time or date provided for the Services is an estimate only and not a guaranteed appointment. The Company will make reasonable efforts to attend within the agreed time window but accepts no liability for delay caused by circumstances beyond its control, including traffic disruptions, adverse weather, or previous jobs over-running.

A booking is deemed confirmed only once the Company has acknowledged acceptance of the job and, where required, has received any applicable deposit or card pre-authorisation. The Company reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.

Client Responsibilities and Access

The Client is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the Premises at the agreed time. The Client must ensure that someone with authority to grant entry is present, or that arrangements for key collection and return are clearly agreed in advance.

The Client must ensure that electricity, hot water, and adequate lighting are available at the Premises for the duration of the visit. The area to be cleaned should be clear of fragile items, breakables, and any personal belongings that could obstruct the work. Where possible, small furniture should be moved prior to arrival. Heavy furniture, electrical equipment and large items will not usually be moved by the Technician for health and safety reasons.

If the Technician is unable to gain access at the agreed time, or if the Premises are not in a suitable condition for cleaning, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and a fee may be charged in accordance with the cancellation terms below.

Condition of Carpets and Limitations

The Client acknowledges that the success of stain removal and overall cleaning results depend on the age, type, and condition of the carpet or upholstery, the nature of the stains, and any previous cleaning attempts. The Company does not guarantee complete stain removal or restoration of materials to their original condition.

Pre-existing damage such as wear and tear, discolouration, burns, pet damage, loose seams, or shrinkage may be highlighted by the cleaning process. The Company is not responsible for such existing conditions, nor for any wear made more visible after cleaning. The Client should inform the Technician of any known issues or manufacturer instructions that may affect the treatment of the material.

Prices and Estimates

Prices are usually provided based on information supplied by the Client, including approximate room sizes, number of items, and level of soiling. Any price given before inspection constitutes an estimate only. The Company reserves the right to revise the price if, upon arrival, the actual work required is materially different from that described at the time of booking.

Where a price adjustment is required, the Technician will inform the Client before commencing work. If the Client does not accept the revised price, the Company may cancel the visit and may charge a call-out fee to cover costs incurred.

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and may be inclusive or exclusive of VAT, depending on the Company’s tax status at the time. Any applicable taxes will be clearly communicated to the Client.

Payments and Charges

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately on completion of the Services at the Premises. The Company may accept payment by cash, card or other agreed methods. For commercial or account Clients, payment terms will be as stated on the invoice.

Where a deposit or pre-payment is required, this will be communicated at the time of booking. Deposits may be non-refundable in the event of late cancellation or failure to provide access, as set out in the cancellation section of these Terms and Conditions.

If payment is not received in accordance with agreed terms, the Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts and to recover any reasonable costs incurred in pursuing late payments, including debt recovery charges and legal fees.

Cancellations, Rescheduling and No-Show

The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving reasonable notice to the Company. Specific notice periods and any applicable cancellation fees will be communicated at the time of booking and may depend on the type and size of the job.

As a general principle, cancellations made with short notice may incur charges, particularly where a Technician has already been dispatched or where the time slot cannot be filled with alternative work. Failure to provide access at the agreed time may be treated as a late cancellation.

The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking at any time due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to staff illness, equipment failure, extreme weather, or safety concerns. In such cases, the Client will be offered the next available appointment, and any deposit or pre-payment related to the affected visit may be transferred or, if appropriate, refunded.

Health, Safety and Conduct

The Company operates in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation and expects the Client to support a safe working environment. Technicians must not be asked to undertake any task that is unsafe, illegal, or falls outside the scope of professional cleaning services.

The Company reserves the right to withdraw its Technicians from the Premises if they encounter abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour, or conditions that in their reasonable opinion pose a risk to health or safety. In such circumstances, the visit may be treated as a cancellation by the Client and a fee may be charged.

Use of Equipment, Materials and Property Care

The Company will use professional-grade cleaning equipment and solutions suitable for the type of material, in line with manufacturer guidance where available. If the Client requests the use of specific products provided by them, the Company accepts no responsibility for the outcome or for any damage that may arise from such products.

Reasonable care will be taken to protect the Client’s property during the provision of the Services. However, the Client is requested to remove small, fragile and valuable items from the vicinity of the areas to be cleaned. The Company will not be liable for items left in or under furniture, on floors, or otherwise within the cleaning area that are damaged as a result of normal cleaning operations.

Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations

The Company will handle and dispose of waste arising from its Services in a responsible manner and in accordance with relevant waste and environmental regulations in the United Kingdom. Typical waste includes soiled water, used cleaning materials, and limited quantities of dry residues collected during the cleaning process.

The Company is not a general waste removal service and will not remove household rubbish, large items, or hazardous materials from the Premises. The Client is responsible for the lawful disposal of any such waste. If the Technician encounters hazardous substances including but not limited to asbestos, chemical spills or biological hazards beyond normal household soiling, the visit may be terminated immediately and the Client may be charged for the time spent on site.

Where appropriate, the Company may use environmentally considerate products and methods, but performance and hygiene will remain the primary considerations in the selection of cleaning solutions.

Liability and Insurance

The Company holds appropriate insurance cover in respect of its Services. Liability for any direct damage caused by the negligence of the Company or its Technicians will be considered in line with the terms of such insurance.

The Company’s total liability in respect of any claim arising from the provision of the Services shall not exceed the price paid or payable for the specific job in question, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law. The Company shall not be liable for loss of profit, loss of revenue, business interruption, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.

The Company will not be responsible for any loss or damage arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Client, from failure to follow the aftercare advice given by the Technician, or from pre-existing conditions of the carpets, upholstery or other surfaces.

Any claim or complaint relating to the Services must be reported to the Company as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within a reasonable time after completion of the work so that the issue can be investigated. The Client should allow the Company an opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify any problem before undertaking remedial work with another provider.

Guarantees and Aftercare

Unless expressly stated in writing, the Company does not provide a guarantee of specific cleaning outcomes. Where a satisfaction guarantee or re-clean offer is advertised for a particular Service, it will be subject to conditions including prompt reporting of issues and allowing the Company reasonable access to re-attend.

The Client is responsible for following any aftercare guidance provided by the Technician, which may include drying times, ventilation requirements, and temporary restrictions on walking over or replacing furniture on cleaned areas. The Company is not liable for damage, resoiling, or other issues resulting from failure to follow such advice.

Force Majeure

The Company shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performing its obligations where such delay or failure results from events or circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, transport disruptions, power failures, industrial disputes, or public health emergencies.

Privacy and Data Protection

The Company will collect and process personal information necessary for managing bookings, providing Services, and handling payments and communications. Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the United Kingdom. The Company will take reasonable measures to safeguard personal information and will not sell such information to third parties.

Amendments to Terms

The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to the Services provided under that booking. Clients are encouraged to review the Terms and Conditions periodically.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal and enforceable. Where such modification is not possible, the relevant provision shall be deemed deleted. Any such modification or deletion shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation or booking confirmation issued by the Company, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence, or understandings.

By proceeding with a booking and allowing the Technician to commence work at the Premises, the Client confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
